Jag har en känsla att 2008 kommer att bli ett händelserikt kaffeår som jag sent kommer att glömma. Först blev jag inbjuden som föreläsare på East African Fine Coffee Association årliga konferens för att prata om marknadsföring av kvalietskaffe mot Europa. Och i nästa vecka kommer jag att träffa kafferostare från hela världen då jag är ansvarig för SCAE workshop för kafferostning under den stora världskonferensen "Wonderful Coffee" i Köpenhamn.Och i dag när jag kom fram efter en lång resa från Malmö till mitt Hotell i Hudiksvall kollade jag mailen. I dagens skörd av mail var det ett som glänste extra mycket, "Rwanda Cup of Excellence" står det i ämnesraden. Jag klickade med pirrande fingrar för att öppna mailet, och plötsligt dök följande ingress upp....

Det är ett lyckorus som går genom kroppen. Alla specialkafferostare är nog med på att det är något speciellt med Cup of Excellence. Men att få bli utvald när programmet ska introduceras på en ny kontinent är något magiskt som många kaffeälskare drömmer att få vara med om. Schemat känns igen från tidigare tävlingsarrangemang och det finns många bekanta ansikten i juryn som kommer bli kul att träffa igen, Aleco(Stumptown), Robert (Kaffa), Geoff Watts (Intelligentsia), Tom(Sweet Marias), Jeff(Zoka), Andreas(Solberg&Hansen), Chris(Allegro), Steve(Has bean) med fler.
